I promised to post photos of my new art studio. We are in the home stretch for completion- and I couldn't be more thrilled!! So here ya go-
This is the "kitchen" wall. It's really more of a wet bar! The refrigerator will be housed in the closet to the left (out of picture). Refrigerator closet will have a barn door so will not be visible at all.
I'm really excited about this wood ceiling! This is old growth cedar stained with a clear finish and it really looks amazing. I knew I wanted tongue and groove somewhere in the structure to provide texture and contrast to the whiteness of the space. Yes, those walls will be white- Simply White by Benjamin Moore. There are no upper cabinets- I wanted open shelving. The shelving is rustic and wood colored. Can you sense a modern farmhouse theme here?
This is a view of the entry door and work wall- wall to the left is my work wall. Opposite the entry door wall here, is the back wall with French doors. The floors in the studio are engineered hardwood and look absolutely amazing!! They are covered here- it will be fun to show photos when the protective flooring is off and everything is in place.
At the moment, the painter has been working non-stop to paint and complete all those Cape Cod, double hung windows! The entry door will be painted black however this particular door was installed and is faulty. So another new one is coming. Just part of the new construction saga...
Stairs leading up to my loft. The loft will be my private, lounge space. Stairs are also the engineered hardwood. (We were not able to install solid hardwood in the structure as we have a slab foundation).
This is one of my inspiration photos! I just love this space and it set the tone for the entire design of my studio. My floors are that color and also wide plank. I won't have the upper cabinets but my counter top will be black- much to my husband's dislike :)
The studio space is roughly 800 square feet- not too big and not too small. Having the loft really helps because it separates the work space from the living space. Really looking forward to having it all come together!
Until next time, Shann
