A New Opportunity in Art
I've been chosen to participate in this summer's Anacortes Fine Art Show. This is a prestigious event where work is selected from about 600 artists. Out of these, only 131 pieces will be featured in the show. It's an honor, and it marks my first showing in several years after taking a break from public exhibitions.
Reflecting on My Journey
Over my career, I've had the privilege to showcase my paintings in many venues. Each experience has shaped my art and contributed to my growth as an artist. There was a time when I opened my studio to the public during the island art studio tour. This involved significant effort and planning, but it also provided a unique opportunity to connect with art lovers directly.
Taking a Step Back
Participating in the studio tour was a lot of work. After several years of intense preparation and commitment, I decided to take a step back. This shift allowed me to focus more on painting itself, the aspect of art I love most. I am truly glad I made that decision. The time away from public exhibitions has been rejuvenating. I feel excited and ready to present my work again.
The Creative Process
The painting process is personal and intricate. Each piece I create tells a story. I find inspiration from various sources—home, color, design, and experiences. I strive to capture these elements in my artwork through varied imagery. Brushstrokes reflect my journey and the messages I wish to convey. Art isn't just about the finished product, it's about exploration, and the images that unfold during creation. My unique voice as an artist speaks through vibrant colors, unique imagery and intricate details.
Looking Ahead
As I prepare for the Anacortes Fine Art Show, I'm filled with excitement. Showing my work to the public again is both thrilling and daunting. I hope to engage with visitors and hear their thoughts on my art. Creating connections is such a rewarding aspect of being an artist.
I also plan to incorporate new techniques learned during my time away from the public eye. Continuous learning is essential in the creative field. It helps keep the inspiration alive and the work fresh.
Final Thoughts
Until next time, enjoy summer, I'm looking forward to this show. It will undoubtedly be my final showing this year, as I prepare for my upcoming busy season. Thank you for taking this journey with me. If you're interested in exploring more about my work, and my vibrant expressions through art, be sure to continue visiting my website.
