It was time to make a change to my website. I found I was spending an inordinate amount of time with many pages to update, and other various features which ate up too much of my time. Time that I would rather spend painting and creating. So this website will start off simple, and maybe grow into something more complex (even though I've always loved SIMPLE). For now, I'll be keeping my blog here and updating you my friends! Thank you for following along with me on this journey.
The Leaves were Falling is a recent painting I did, which is part of a series of paintings I call my "dream scenes". They are paintings that are imaginary, and that derive from bits and pieces of my dreams. I first start out by arranging the composition. I do this by blindly blocking in shapes on the surface, in this case watercolor paper. I actually do this with my eyes closed!!, then when I've covered the entire surface, I proceed to complete the picture with my "dream elements". There is an element of chance in these which I find endearing. Hard to explain... I really like how this painting turned out.
These three paintings recently sold to a few of my wonderful supporters- thank you!
Until next time,
